Job Description

For us, your passion for software development is as important as your technical experience. We look for someone that loves to work in a team, who wants to learn new things and technologies and share this knowledge with the team!


As Back end Developer, you will be part of our new Software Development Team. You will take on in-house .NET business application development requests and projects. The emphasis will be on requests and projects for our internal European organization, but these can also be globally oriented.


You will be in close cooperation with the European IT team and the applications development team at our US global headquarters (located in California).


As Backend Developer you will working at our European Head office in Amersfoort in The Netherlands as well as working from home (option available) and report to the Lead Developer. Within Applied Medical the title of this position is Developer Back-end.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understanding and following Applied Medical’s Quality Systems (QS) as per training
  • Understanding and complying with safety rules and Company policies
  • Collaborate as part of the Development team to develop web applications and support business processes using the .NET stack
  • Support the maintenance of existing web applications, console applications and/or interactive PDFs
  • Communicate with stakeholders, business analysts, developers, and quality assurance teams to define system requirements
  • Participate in the development, testing, implementation, and documentation of solutions, ensuring that the software meets the needs of end users and achieves business goals
  • Update internal websites and web applications with new content and features
  • Be open to flexible working hours


  • Bachelor's/HBO degree in Computer Science, MIS or Engineering
  • 3+ years’ experience designing and programming .NET applications
  • Familiarity with .NET Framework, .NET Core, ASP.NET (Core), MSSQL, and related technologies
  • Familiarity with HTML5, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and related technologies
  • Good working knowledge of application/database design and software architecture patterns (e.g., MVC, REST)
  • Strong ability to analyze and understand the design of existing applications in order to fix bugs and add features
  • Excellent object-oriented and/or functional design skills
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks in a team environment
  • Proficient level of English, both spoken and written
  • Open to work flexible hours as regular contact with the US team is required (9 hours’ time difference)
