Job Description

Are you an engaging manager with experience working in an environment where safety, quality, and customer satisfaction are high priorities? Consider joining our new team as Sterilization Plant Manager. In this position, you will primarily be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment, as well as monitoring the performance and all operation phases of our new sterilization plant. You will work closely together with our engineering, production, maintenance, quality and safety teams including our sterilization plant management team at our US Headquarters (Orange County, California). Emphasis will be on preparing the implementation of our new sterilization plant and on creating and leading a new growing team which you will mentor and guide. As this is a new facility you will need to be prepared to travel to our US Headquarters for training for approximately 4-6 weeks.

 

You will be based at Applied Medical’s European Head Office in Amersfoort and report to the VP Operations.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Establishing and implementing an organizational structure by assigning responsibilities and delegating authority
  • Ensuring a safe, clean, and secure working environment by establishing and enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Selecting and training direct reports
  • Leading a team by coaching, counseling, and motivating team members
  • Controlling the cost of the sterilization process
  • Monitoring predetermined preventative maintenance measures designed to minimize equipment related downtime
  • Apply theoretical and engineering principles using analytical techniques for the evaluation and solution of technical problems
  • Ensuring compliance with all national and local regulations
  • Reviewing and approving control documents
  • Striving for continuous improvement by analyzing new or alternative ways to improve operations
  • Coordinating/representing the operation during QS audits, government agencies visits, etc.

Requirements

  • BSc+ in engineering/science or equivalent engineering experience
  • 10+ years of management experience in a highly regulated industry
  • Experience with working in a sterilization process environment (ISO 11135 and or ISO 11137) is highly preferred
  • Analyzing and mathematic skills (ratios, proportions, basic algebra)
  • Basic understanding of mechanical reasoning, prototyping, manufacturing process, and raw materials
  • Fluency in English and Dutch
  • Currently living in the Netherlands
