Job Description

Do you have a strong commercial track record in medical devices, negotiation skills and are you able to deliver valuable strategic input? Then this GPO Manager can be the next exciting step in your career. In this position, you will be responsible for successfully managing the relations and contracts with group purchasing organizations (GPO’s/Einkaufsgemeinschaften), procurement departments of large hospital groups (Grosskunden) and Logistic Service Providers (LSP) In Germany. Your input will maintain and improve contracts with GPO’s and acquire new collaborations with winning strategies to reach our goals.. You maintain optimal working relations with clients and all relevant departments within our European Headquarters in the Netherlands. This position is based in Germany and part of our German sales team

 

As GPO Manager you will travel 50% of the time to customers and prospects in Germany. Additionally, you work in your home office on contracts, pricing strategies and action plans. You report to the Director Field Implementation.

 

Within Applied Medical the job title of this position is Group Purchasing Manager.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Develop, negotiate, improve and close contracts with German group purchasing organizations, in close cooperation with the local sales team in and the relevant departments at the European headquarters
  • Analyze GPO market dynamics by generating an overview of the pricing, purchase levels, awarding process, product potential, competitor products, competitor pricing and clients that are relevant for our medical device products and strategy
  • Formulate goals, the corresponding strategy and implement this in close collaboration with our German sales team
  • Acquire collaborations with new GPO's and large hospital groups by negotiating and closing contracts with them
  • Develop and manage standard contracts and pricing process for Germany, specifying timelines and responsibilities

Requirements

  • BSc/MSc degree level education in business or a related field
  • 2 to5 years of relevant experience with medical device sales, clinical development and/or marketing in hospitals
  • Additionally, at least 3 years of experience in a similar position with national responsibilities and proven track record in working with GPO’s/ Einkaufsgemeinschaften, tenders and procurement in healthcare
  • Strong leadership, analytic, client communication, negotiation, process management and consensus building skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and German
  • Living in Germany and willingness to travel
